5 Summer Beach Reads

Whether it’s on the beach, the lake, or your porch, a book is always a great addition. Check out these 5 summer reads for every mood:

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

A super lovely book that had me at the edge of my seat throughout. “Where the Crawdads Sing” is about a girl who lives in the swamp and not only survives by learning about her environment but also fully appreciates the beauty around her. She is accused of murder due to the town’s prejudice and now she must prove she’s innocent.

How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are: Love, Style, and Bad Habits by Anne Berest, Audrey Diwan, Caroline De Maigret, Sophie Mas

This is a simple and style inspiring read. It’s more of a “how-to” for French style and feelings (even though the authentic French style has no to-do book). I love everything French though, so this was a fun, mindless read for me to pick up some tips and tricks for how I was going to dress for dinner that night.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

Okay, I am here to tell you the hype is REAL with this book and series! This book sparked my love for reading again, and if you think book 1 is great, book 2 will blow your mind. “The Court of Thorns and Roses” is about a girl who has to hunt in the woods to feed her family, and one fateful day she kills a Fae. For her punishment, she must leave her family and mortal world behind, live with a Fae male, and learn to survive.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

Did I stay up until 1 am reading this book? Yes. Did I cry my eyes out for the last 50 pages? Yes. Do I recommend this book to everyone with no provocation at all? Definitely. This book is so beautifully written about two French sisters who are surviving during WWII. One sister is a mother and housewife and the other is a young spitfire who are both resisting the German invasion in their own unique way. This book is a masterpiece and you won’t be disappointed.

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

This is a super sweet romance book about a pro-football player and his assistant. Threatened to be deported back to Canada, the Wall of Winnipeg makes an offer to his assistant that she can’t refuse.
